Footpaths closed by HS2

WEN/37/1 (Bowood Lane) and GMI/2/1 are the only open footpaths between South Heath and Wendover. Both should be supervised by HS2 security staff where they cross the works. Leather Lane is closed completely, and Bowood lane closed to vehicles, untill late 2026

Access to Wendover from the valley is now difficult due to the lack of provision for walkers or cyclists through the HS2 works at Smalldean on the A413, and the closure of Smalldean Lane which provided a way to avoid the dangers. See the Misbourne Greenway page for the unsatisfactory alternatives.
