Chiltern Heritage Trail 2026

Since GMI/2,12 & 13 will all be closed during 2026, the Chiltern Heritage Trail will be diverted via Potter Row and Frith Hill. The previous diversion is now closed.

Northbound from Gt Missenden

Turn right off the Link Road at the car park entrance and follow the footpath along the edge of The Bury. On reaching The Square, turn left and take the underpass under the A413 and Frith Hill. At the top of the hill, turn left onto a track, then right onto Frith Hill. Shortly after the hoardings surrounding the HS2works, follow footpath GMI/16 to the left, which then crosses a field diagonally. Turn Left to follow Potter Row for about 500 yards, to rejoin the published route on GMI/13 , just after Bud Cottage.

Southbound from Balinger

Turn left on reaching Potter Row, and after 500 yards turn right just after Bury farm to take the path across a field to Frith Hill. Descend Frith Hill, and turn right down a track where the road turns sharp left. Turn left after 25 yards onto a steeply descending path which passes under both Frith Hill and the A413. Turn right onto Buryfield Lane just after the Combined School, and follow the path (GMI/1(F)) through the Bury (recreation gound), to rejoin the advertised route at the Link Road.
