Enabling Works

The enabling works contract (Ground Investigation, Newt counting) has been placed with Fusion JV - a collaborative venture between Morgan Sindall, BAM and Ferrovial . "The scope of activity will range from ecology and environmental works, demolition, archaeology, utility diversions and highway realignments."

The ground investigations commenced late last year (2016).

Contracts for works northwards of the Chilterns Tunnel North Portal are now placed with the
EKFB consortium -

Ferrovial Agroman

Ferrovial, S.A., previously Grupo Ferrovial, is a Spanish multinational company involved in the design, construction, financing, operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure and urban services

BAM Nuttall

a construction and civil engineering company headquartered in Camberley, United Kingdom.

The consortium has been awarded lots C2 (North Portal-Brackley) and C3 (Brackley - Long Itchington), with a total value of £1.4bn -

"These Lots will be awarded in two stages. Stage One will be a 16-month period to develop a design, a programme and a Target Cost for the construction of the works. Stage Two is the construction of the main works and this is expected to take between four and five years to complete."

Chiltern Tunnels

The Chiltern tunnels (with vent shafts) and Colne Valley Viaduct contract (Lot C1) has been placed with the Align joint venture -
